Moving up the microwave

YOU GUYS WE HAVE HUGE NEWS!!!!

We scored a 10" Delta Chop Saw for DIRT cheap! This means, we will be able to complete SO many of the projects that we have left on our to do list <3

In the mean time though, let's get you up to date on what we did next in the kitchen!

Walking through our condo for the first time I knew the microwave was a little low, but I didn't realize just how low it was. As it turned out, a stock pot wouldn't even fit! I knew that before we replaced the cabinet doors, the microwave had to be lifted. My favorite handyman (my Dad) came over to help me remove the microwave and the cabinet that was above it.

everything out of the cabinet and on to the table

We took the microwave off of the mounts and removed the cabinet from the wall. We put the microwave on the counter and Dad took the cabinet with him.

A couple of days later I got this picture! It was like the cabinet had magically shrunk!

Dad ran the cabinet through his table saw VERY carefully on each side and then glued the two piece back together.

To make the job easier of moving the height of the bracket, we began the process of removing the "christmas-inspired-vomit" backsplash. <<< guess how much I loved the backsplash??

I for sure did not want to be Suzy so I made sure to wear safety goggles and a dust mask while I was removing the backsplash.

The next week when Dad came back, we installed the cabinet, raised the microwave

brackets, then put the microwave back on the wall!

BOOM! Microwave was raised and it looks perfect!

Next up is the counter tops!

xoxo,

L
